Services for Mrs. Melvin Olson, 69, were held Tuesday in St. Olaf Lutheran Church, Bode, with burial in the church cemetery. Schellhammer Funeral Home, West Bend, was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Olson died March 31, 1973, in Bethesda General Hospital, Fort Dodge, where she had been a patient for two weeks.
Surviving are the widower, Melvin, sons: Wayne, Bode; and Steve DeGroote, who was raised in the Olson home; five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, brothers and sisters: Clarence Gunderson, Mrs. Blanche Christianson, and Mrs. Josephine Sween, all of Bode; Chester, Belmond, Gilbert, Terril; Harland, Fort Dodge, and Mrs. Arlene Keating, El Dorado, Calif.
Mildred Gunderson was born at Ottawa, Illinois, and moved to Ottosen with her family at the age of 9. She grew up and received her education there. In 1925 she married Melvin Olson at Spencer.
