Funeral services for Mrs. Harold Rood, 64, of Humeston, Iowa, formerly of Bode were held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, May 15, at the St. Olaf Lutheran Church of Bode. Burial was in the church cemetery with the Hutchinson Funeral Home of Humeston in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Rood died Sunday, May 12, 1968 at the Wayne County Hospital at Corydon, Iowa, where she had been a patient for the past few days.

Survivors include her husband, a son, Harold, Jr., of Salinas, California, four grandchildren, three brothers, and two sisters.

The former Gladys LaVere, Mrs. Rood was born and reared at Lu Verne. In 1921 she was married to Harold Rood. The couple farmed in the Bode vicinity, operated a restaurant for some time, then returned to farming in the Humboldt area.

Mrs.Rood was a member of the Lutheran Church of America.
