OBITUARY

George F. Kent was born in Oneida county, New York, Nov. 9th, 1832 and died at Stanhope, Iowa, Aug. 9th, 1913 at the age of 90 years and 9 months. He was a patient sufferer for three years due to the dread disease paralysis. Later pneumonia developed which caused his death.

Mr. Kent came to Hamilton County in 1855 at the age of 22 years and has since resided here.

On May 18th, 1865 he was united in marriage to Miss Margaret Groves and to this union were born eight children, three boys and five girls all living within a short distance from the old home. Besides his wife and children left to mourn his death he leaves one sister, Mrs. Browning, of Boone and a large circle of friends as he was an old resident and well known throughout the county. Mr. Kent was a man noted for his cleanliness and morality, has always been worthy of respect and regard by his fellow men and led an honorable and upright career.

The funeral services were held at the home Monday morning at ten o'clock conducted by Rev. Shaw, pastor of the Christian church and interment was made in the Webster City cemetery.
