Mrs. Mary French Tuttle

Died - Last Thursday at the residence of Mr. George French, near Faulkner Mrs. Mary French Tuttle, of pneumonia, aged 60 years, 5 months and 1 day. The funeral occurred Friday, February 28th, at the home of George French, Rev. Barton, of this place officiating. The remains were interred in the Sawyer cemetery. Mary French was born in Ludlow, Winsor county, Vermont, September 25, 1829. Came west in the year 1858, and in 1859 was married to Elias Tuttle, at Cherry Valley, Illinois, and afterward made her home at Belvedeer, Illinois. Her husband and one child were called home years ago. One child married to Hanson Sawyer still remains to mourn the loss of a loving mother. She united with the Baptist church at Belvedeer, Illinois and in coming to Iowa united with the same church at Hampton. One of her last remarks was that she was ready to be with Christ.
