Strickler couple observes 50th anniversary
Approximately 230 guests attended open house Feb 19, at the VFW Post Home in observance of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Strickler’s golden wedding anniversary.
Hosts and hostesses were the couple’s daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth (Alice) Beasley, Todd and Audra. Mr. and Mrs. Clair North and Mr. and Mrs. Jim Michaelis served as greeters.
Todd Beasley presented his grandparents with an engraved gold cross on behalf of himself and his sister. Audra Beasley gave devotion before cutting the cake.
Decoration featured the marriage colors of blue and white. The cake was baked by Judy Schmidtke. Hettie Kukhan and Mildred Boggess poured coffee and punch, both sisters of Mrs. Strickler, Vera Darrow, Sticklers’ sister had charge of guest book. Cake was cut and served by Mrs. Kurt Hoehne and Mrs. Clair North Mrs. Don Bluhm and daughter, Donna had charge of the gift table.
Waitresses were Shirley Starkweather, Donna Patton, Diana North and Glenice Walters. Kitchen attendants were Nancy Herron, Carol Knutson and Ardith Kelly.
Out of town guests included Mr. and Mrs. Kurt Hoehne, Wilmar, Minn; Mr. and Mrs. Roy Sticker, Maynard, Minn; Waldo Smith, Hayward, Minn.
