Sim Gifford

After nearly 25 years of service to the Farm Service Coop in Charles City, Sim Gifford, 509 8th Ave., was honored at a surprise retirement party at the Farm Service Store, 1303 S. Grand Ave., last Friday morning.

Gifford started with Farm Service in October 1952 after he and his wife Olga moved to Charles City. Previous to his move here Gifford farmed for 16 years in Minnesota and Wisconsin. Gifford began at Farm Service as a station attendant and moved into service and bulk LP delivery.

He still plans to work part time with Farm Service, He and his wife have two children and four grandchildren. Their son Dennis lives in Keota and has two children and his daughter Diane lives in Nashua and has two children.
