William Riley Dies at Poor Farm
William Riley died at the county poor farm Saturday morning [April 18, 1914] of complications arising from asthma,aged 69 years. Funeral was held from the Catholic church Monday morning. [Burial was at the Catholic cemetery.]
Deceased was for many years employed at the Rock Island round house and until his health failed him about two years ago. He was a kind-hearted and God fearing citizen. His brother, Pat Riley of Sioux Falls, was engineer on the passenger run between Estherville and Sioux Falls for over twenty years.
[According to his death record in Emmet County Book 1A, page 26 he was single. His parents were born in Ireland; their names were unknown.]
