14-Sep-1967

Mathew Spieker
Mathew Spieker, youngest son
of Mr. and Mrs. Anton Spieker,
was born November 5, 1890, at
Carroll, Iowa. He died September
3 in the Holy Family Hospital
at Estherville.
Funeral services were held in
St. Joseph Catholic Church September
7 with Father Othmar
Koester officiating. Burial was
in Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers
were Ted Frederick, Floyd
Woodley, George Wittrock, Le-
Roy Luchtel, Joe Wuebker and
Henry Hodapp.
January 9, 1912 Mr. Spieker
married Mary Gute in St. Mary's
Church at Willey, Iowa. After
their marriage they moved to
Petersburg, Neb., and resided on
the same farm for 33 years. In
January 1945 they moved with
their family to Milford and retired
from farming.
A member of St. Joseph Catholic
Church, he is survived by
two children, Lambert Spieker
and Mrs, Lawrence (Louise)
Lambert both of Milford; 12
grandchildren and two brothers.
