CLAYTON: Edward Ostoff, 78, was born April 18, 1874 and died April 27, 1952. He was born at Balltown, Iowa, the son of Christ and Mary Osthoff.
On Oct. 01, 1895 he was married to Louisa Franz at Sherril Mound, Iowa. She died May 20, 1909.
On June 28, 1910 he married Frances Broessel at Dubuque.
Mr. Ostoff worked on the Milwaukee railroad from 1901 to 1939. He was foreman in Clayton for 36 years.
He is survived by his wife Frances, five children, Edwin of Guttenberg, Lorraine Lietha of Cochrane, Wis., Irene Stott and Esther McGinley, both of Darlington, Wis., and Vivian Ostoff of Clayton; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, two brothers, Matt and Christ of Eastman, Iowa, and one sister, Annie Jotham of Durango, Iowa.
Services were held at the Gospel Hall in Garnavillo, Tuesday, April 29, at 2:00 p.m.
