Miss Shirley Jane Maxon became the bride of Lt. Walter Leroy Saur Sunday, April 20, in the Peace Evangelical and Reformed church, Elkader. The Rev. Paul Kitterer officiated. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Maxon of West Liberty and Lt. Saur is the son of Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Saur of Elkader. Mrs. Patricia Hadley was her sister's matron of honor, and Miss Beverly Maxson, sister of the bride, was a bridesmaid. The groom's attendants and the ushers were all friends. Little Diana and Patricia Hadley were the flower girls.
Mrs. Saur attended Iowa State Teachers college, and Lt. Saur is a graduate of Coe college and received his Masters Degree from the University of Iowa. He is affiliated with Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, honorary music fraternity, Scabbard and Blade, honorary military organization; Phi Delta Kappa, honorary education fraternity, and the Masonic lodge.
After a short honeymoon, the new couple will live in Alexandria, La., where Lt. Saur is stationed with the 122d AC & W Sq.
