Miehe - Carlsen marriage - 1952

Miss Mary Jane Carlsen, daughter of Mrs. Elmer Walter Carlsen, and the late Mr. Carlsen, and James Joseph Miehe, S.A., U.S. Navy, son of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Miehe, were united in marriage on March 15. The Rev. Robert Ferring officiated in St. Joseph's Rectory, Elkader. Mrs. P. R. V. Hommel, god-mother of the bride, was the bride's only attendant. The bride was given in marriage by Dr. P. R. V. Hommel, her god-father. Patrick Miehe attended his brother as best man.

The newlyweds went on a short honeymoon, after which Mrs. Miehe will return to her student teaching in the first grade at the Irving school, Dubuque, and to her classes at the University of Dubuque, where she will receive her Associate of Arts degree in June. Mr. Miehe will report to the United States Naval Training Center, Great Lakes, Ill., on March 28 for assignment.
