Allen - Cassutt marriage - 1955

Miss Dorothy Mae Cassutt, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leo Cassutt, Elkader, Iowa, became the bride of Robert Joseph Allen son of Mrs. Mary Allen, Lamont, Iowa, and the late Loney Allen, Saturday, in St. Joseph's church with the Rev. Cletus Hawes officiating. Lynn Allen, brother of the groom, and James Canon, nephew of the groom, were alter boys. Miss Jean Cassutt, Elkader, and Mrs. John Degenford, Oak Park, Ill., sisters of the bride, were maid of honor and bridesmaid respectively. Beryl Allen, Aurora, brother of the groom, was best man. James Cassutt, Elkader, and Florian Cassutt, Kiester, Minn., brothers of the bride were ushers. Becky Allen, niece of the groom, was flower girl.

The bride was graduated from St. Joseph's high school, and Mt. Mercy college, Cedar Rapids, and has been teaching in Garnavillo the past two years. The groom graduated from Aurora public school and attended DeVry Technical Institute and is employed in Manchester, where the new couple will be at home.
