Long-Time Resident of Truro Neighborhood Dies at Age 80
Truro---(Special)---Mrs. Henretta Cooper, long-time resident of this county, died on Nov. 12, (1941), at the home of her son, Perry Cooper at Bevington. She was 80 years of age.
Mrs. Cooper was the former Henretta Isabelle DeLong, and was born in Clarke county on Dec. 13, 1860. All of her life had been spent near Truro with the exception of the past year.
She was married, on Sept. 25, 1879, to John C. Cooper. They were the parents of three sons, one of whom died in infancy, and another, Oda C. Cooper, who died in 1931. Her husband succumbed in 1920.
Mrs. Cooper had been in ill health for some time, and had been confined to her bed for the past 12 weeks.
She is survived by the one son, Perry Cooper of Bevington; a sister, Mrs. Mae Jones of Jefferson; eight grandchildren and two great grandsons.
Funeral services were held from the Truro Methodist church Nov. 14, with the Rev. W. W. Watson officiating. Burial was made in the Fields cemetery.
Note: Husbands name should read, John J. Cooper. Henretta was also known as Retta.
