Sally Ann Berglund, 71, of Larrabee, Iowa passed away Wednesday, August 19, 1998, in St. Luke’s Regional Medical Center in Sioux City, Iowa after a brief illness.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 22, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Cherokee, Iowa. Burial will be in the Mount Calvary Cemetery, Cherokee.
Mrs. Berglund was born May 1, 1927, in Cherokee to Dr. R. V. and Melba (Jacobberger) Hanlon. She attended schools at Immaculate Conception and Cherokee Public, graduating from Wilson High School in 1945. She attended Creighton University for one year. On December 27, 1947, she married Kenneth Berglund in Cherokee. They farmed east of Larrabee for many years. She was an election booth worker and was also active in the Democratic Party. She enjoyed her farming and family. She also kept busy by doing bookwork and golfing.
Survivors include her husband, Kenneth; three sons; Jim Berglund and his wife, Linda, Merrill, Iowa; John Berglund of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; and Jerry Berglund and his wife, Julie, Cherokee; three daughters: Jean and her husband, Patrick Mohr, Galva, Iowa; Janice and her husband, John Small, Watertown, South Dakota; and Julie and her husband, Curt Johnson, Spirit Lake, Iowa; 11 grandchildren; one great granddaughter, her mother, Melba Hanlon, Marcus, Iowa; and a sister, Mary and her husband, Joe Carroll, Spencer, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her father.
