VERY SUDDEN DEATH IN ROCK TOWNSHIP
Mrs. Anton Rupp Passes Away as She Had Anticipated
The Community was shocked yesterday morning to hear of the death of Mrs. Anton Rupp at her home in Rock township. She had been in her usual health and retired Saturday night in good spirits. About midnight, Mr. Rupp was awakened by unusual noises and thinking his wife was dreaming or suffering from nightmare, he called to her. He heard her give one gasp and when he had secured a light, he found that she had expired. Her death was the result of the bursting of a blood vessel in the heart. Mrs. Rupp had for several years complained at times of trouble with her heart and had told the family that she expected to die in just that way, assuring them that she would be prepared to go when the time came.
If relatives who are expected from Wisconsin arrive this afternoon, the funeral will occur tomorrow morning. Interment being had in Maryhill cemetery.
The deceased was a native of Wisconsin and came to Cherokee County some twenty-seven years ago. She was 49 years of age the 11th of last May. She was the mother of six children. They are Mrs. John George, Jacob, Frank, Ben, Tony, who died nine years ago, and Maggie. Besides the husband and children there are many other relatives and a host of friends who will feel deeply the loss of a devoted Christian wife and mother, neighbor and friend.
