Last rites for Wilmar (Tub) Williams, 72, were held at the Sheets & Son Funeral Home Jan. 6, 1990 with the Rev. Donald Sondrol officiating. Burial was in the Tipton Masonic cemetery. Pallbearers were Don Rosenow, Kevin Licht, Lewis Wagner, Warren Reed, David Williams and Donald Paul.
Mr. Williams died at Mercy hospital, Iowa City, Jan. 4.
The son of Walter and Lydia Bock Williams, he was born near Tipton Nov. 22, 1917. He attended the Cedar county rural schools. He married Bueta V. Marker July 26, 1936 at Wapello.
A resident of the Tipton area all of his life, he farmed and then worked as a bartender at Schneider's Inn for 26 years.
He is survived by his wife, 2 sons, Robert, Mesa, Ariz. and Gerald, New Carlisle, Ohio; 4 granddaughters; a sister, Mrs. Junior (Sarah) Bromell, Tipton; 3 brothers, Herb, Rock Island; Dean, Springdale and Al, Rochester. He was preceded in death by 3 brothers, 2 infant granddaughters and an infant grandson.
