Funeral services for Mrs. Frank (Emma M.) Hammann, 96, were held at the Lacock Funeral Home, Wilton, Dec. 9, 1989 with the Rev. David Lawson officiating. Burial was in the Durant cemetery.

Mrs. Hammann died at the Bethesda Care center, Muscatine, Dec. 6.

The daughter of Detlaf and Emma Goetsch Wehde, she was born at Tipton Feb. 25, 1893. She married Frank Hammann at Davenport Dec. 16, 1924.

The couple farmed in the Wilton area before moving to Wilton. She cared for country kindergarten children at the Wilton school from noon to bus time for several years. She was known for her garden, which she cared for herself.

She was a 50 year plus member of the Royal Neighbors of America, Wilton Camp and the Gloria Dei Lutheran church.

She is survived by nieces, nephews and a sister-in-law, Mabel Hammann, Durant. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1970 and sisters and brothers.
