Funeral services for Ellis Taylor, 81, West Branch, were held Sept. 2, 1988 in the West Branch United Methodist church, with burial in the West Branch cemetery.

Mr. Taylor died Sept. 1 at the Crestview Care Center in West Branch after a short illness.

The son of Lester and Katie Shindler Taylor, he was born Sept. 10, 1906 in Iowa county. He married Alice West Sept. 8, 1928 in Iowa City. He farmed most of his life in the Iowa City and West Branch areas.

Mr. Taylor was a member of the West Branch United Methodist church.

He is survived by his wife, a son, Robert, Muncie, Ind.; a foster son, Glen Frisbie, Springville; a half brother, Lester Taylor, Groveland, Calif. and 7 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son.
