Funeral services for Raymond Moeller, 65, Durant, were held July 24, 1987 at the United Methodist church in Wilton with the Rev. Paul Pennington officiating. Pallbearers were Randy Sissel, David and Michael Young, Bill Phillips, Kevin and Bradley Phelps and Mark, Matthew and Gary Moeller. Burial was in the Durant cemetery, with military services at graveside by the Durant American Legion.
Mr. Moeller died July 22 at Mercy hospital in Davenport.
The son of Walter and Clara Stolte Moeller, he was born June 17, 1922 in rural Bennett. He resided in Durant for most of his life. He married Evelyn Hite Feb. 14, 1945 in Tipton.
Mr. Moeller farmed for 20 years and worked as a mechanic at Wilson's Chevrolet in Durant for 17 years, retiring in 1979.
He was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving in World War II. He was a member of the Durant American Legion and Peace United Church of Christ in Bennett.
Mr. Moeller is survived by his wife; a son, Richard, Denver, Colo.; 2 daughters, Kathryn Moeller, Durant and Mrs. William (Sue) Grunder, Wilton; 2 brothers, Alvin, Marion and Wallace, Tipton and 5 sisters, Mrs. Hugo (Bernice) Schluter, Tipton; Mrs. Gene (Helen) Sissel, Tipton; Mrs. Dale (Evelyn) Sterner, Hackensack, Minn.; Mrs. Dick (Luella) Phillips, Cedar Rapids and Mrs. Lynn (Neva Jean) Phelps, Tipton.
