Services held for George F. Eddy, 94

Funeral services for Geroge Franklin Eddy, 94, were held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday August 4, at the Swanson Funeral Home in Independence. Mr. Eddy died at 8 a.m. Tuesday, August 2, at an Independence hospital, where he had been a patient for several years.

The son of Levi and Marie Smith Eddy, he was born in Buchanan County on April 8, 1861. He lived his entire lifetime in this community and was a farmer for many years. He married Miss Katherine Skelly in Independence, she died in 1934.

Mr. Eddy is survived by one son, Harvey Eddy of Independence.

The Rev. N.M. Coughenour officiated at funeral services and burial was in Mt. Hope cemetery. Pallbearers were Charles Jones, James Massingham, William Dunn, Milton Jamieson, William Hickey, and Frank Heiserman.
