Patricia “Patt” Albert, 79, of Independence, IA, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 26, 2024, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Patricia was born on May 25, 1945, the daughter of Harold and Edna (Frizzelle) Wehrspann. Patt grew up in Independence, IA, and was a 1964 graduate of Jefferson High School. On February 11, 1968, Patt married her high school sweetheart, Kenneth (Ken) Albert. Patt had worked at Tegen’s Store in Independence and in 1969, the Alberts purchased the Tegen Store in Manchester, IA. They renamed the business Albert’s Variety Store and made Manchester their new home.

When their family started to grow, Patt stayed home and made her children her priority. She was a devoted mother and volunteered often. For many years she was a 4-H leader, Girl Scout Leader, and helped on many school field trips and activities. She made sure she was there for her girls. When she became a grandmother, her world was complete. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy and supported them in all their endeavors. She also enjoyed her time at their cabin on the Wapsi river, and their winter home in Texas.

She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Albert, her daughters, Jennifer Havlovick, of Nebraska, and Tara (Kevin) McEnany, Independence, IA, grandchildren, Shaelyn McEnany, and Teegan McEnany, a brother-in-law, Craig (Judy) Albert, Brandon, IA, and Cousin Marilyn (Everett) Jensen, and her beloved dog, Coco Chanel.

Patricia is preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Edna Wehrspann, a brother, Gerry Wehrspann, a brother-in-law, Ronnie Albert, and a cousin, Judy Jensen.

A Private Memorial Service was held, and inurnment was held at Wilson Cemetery, Independence, IA. The Reiff Family Center – Funeral Home & Crematory assisted the family with arrangements.
