I would like to know whether any local newspapers recorded the arrival in Barclay twp from England of Sophia Watton (aka Melton), the 82 year old mother of Henry Watton, Farmer, of Barclay, in the few weeks following her arrival in New York on 27 October 1882. Her death in 1889 was noted in the "Buchanan County Journal"; and in the same paper in the same year, under "Jesup News" there was reference to an injury sustained by Henry Watton.
