Janice Malloy-Groomes

Janice Sue Malloy- Groomes passed away on Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at the Adair County Memorial Hospital. Janice was born on October 1, 1941 at Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines to Ralph and Clora (Collins) Noland.

Janice married Richard L. Malloy on July 25, 1959 and to this union brought two daughters, Rhonda S. and Rebecca S. and gained another daughter, Susan K. Janice enjoyed music, collecting angels, riding horses and spending time with her family. She married Lawrence “Jerry” Groomes in September of 1992.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, February 11, 2013 at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street. Family will greet friends one hour prior to the service. She will be buried at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Prairie City, Iowa.

Janice is survived by her daughters, Rhonda (Bruce) Brown and Rebecca (John) Howe and Susan Malloy; her grandchildren, Luther and Logan Brown, Cassandra and Johnathan Howe, Kodi Kae Callies and Wyatt Woods; five great-grandchildren; her sister, Joyce Pettis and brother, Michael Noland; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by husband, Richard L. Malloy and husband, Lawrence Groomes, brother, David and Elizabeth Noland; brother in-law, Claud Pettis and her parents.
