Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Carl are the parents of a daughter born Friday Dec. 2, 1932.
The Methodist Church
The ladies of the church put on a double header last Saturday. The Co-Workers held their annual bazaar in the church basement and the Senior Aid put on a chicken supper. A large number of women in the community have worked, one way or another to make these things possible. The Co-Workers report receiving about $16.00 for their efforts to date. Some things were not sold. The Senior Aid made about $16. The following ladies took part in helping serve the supper: Mrs. Anna Evans, Mrs. I. P. Bailey, Mrs. Stucker, Mrs. Henry Bakerink, Mrs. Kingery, Mary Garbric, Mrs. Hockersmith, Mrs. Stroup, Mrs. Pfundheller, Mrs. McCard, Agnes Lounsbury, Mrs. Walls. Mildred Rafter, Beatrice and Susie Williams and Mrs. Mabel Brown waited on the tables. Plans for a Christmas program are under way. The following committees were announced last week: Agnes Lounsbury, Beatrice Williams, and Vernon Kirlin. Highland is preparing a program too, and it will be given Friday evening, December 23. Maudie Handley, Hilma Hemphill, and Margaret Anderson were appointed the committee for the program to be assisted by the teachers. Communion services will be held next Sunday in both churches. Choir practice Saturday evening at Mrs. Sadie Ewings at 7:30 sharp. Mrs. John Coleman is on the sick list this week.
Roy Ruch was in Greenfield on business Thursday.
J. D. Moats was in Des Moines on business Wednesday.
Mrs. L. G. Foster was on the sick list the first of the week.
F. E. Sears of Fontanelle was in town on business last Tuesday.
Andy Schreiner of Massena was in town calling on friends Wednesday.
Marjorie Hansen spent the latter part of the week in the J. C. Bross home.
Will Pearson moved to Nevinville last Friday where he will make his future home.
Mrs. Mae Hockersmith of Fontanelle spent the week end in the L. A. Gipple home.
C. A. Gipple has been seriously sick the past week. At the present time he is no better.
Mrs. Clara Campbell who has been very ill the past two weeks is much better at this wriring.
Mrs. Clara Means of Fontanelle is spending this week in the home of her son John and family.
Mrs. Art Hartsell spent the first of the week with her sister Mrs. Walter Hoskins of Nevinville.
Mr. and Mrs. John Woods and son Dale spent Sunday in the Thos. Chew home in Cumberland.
