WAR WIDOW ENLISTS
The widow of an army air force lieutenant killed in an accident at Bakersfield, Cal., Mrs. Betty L. Zeliadt, 22, of Ames, Ia., talks with Tech. Sergt. Stan Henline, of Medford, Wis., after she was sworn into the WAC here Thursday. Her husband, Lieut Lawrence K. Zeliadt, lost his life Oct 3. Sergeant Henline, a patient at Schick General hospital, Clinton, Ia., is on a bond selling tour of Iowa.

BETTY ZELIADT TRANSFERRED
Betty L. Zeliadt, 833 Northwestern, Ames, a member of the Women's Army Corps, recently left First WAC Training Center, Des Moines for duty with the army at Army Air Force Tactical Center, Orlando, Fla.

Lawrence Keith “Larry” Zeliadt was born Aug. 26, 1920 to Ivan Elmer and Vivian Grace Fry Zeliadt. He died Oct. 3, 1944 and is buried in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery, Des Moines, IA.
Lt. Zeliadt served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps and died in a plane crash at Minter Field, CA. He was married to Betty Louise Ikerd Zeliadt.
Betty Louise Ikerd Zeliadt was born Aug. 28, 1922 to Harry E. and Bertha M. Smith Ikerd. Betty served in World War II with the U.S. Army WACs as a stenographer.
