SUSTAINS THE WINGS -- E. Evelyn Waller, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne F. Waller of Garner, is doing her part to keep 'em flying. Recently promoted to corporal at the Hobbs, N. Mex., army air field, she is responsible for graphing facts and figures on the operations of flying fortresses. She keeps track of flying time, engine changes and maintenance work on every fortress at the school. Miss Waller was principal of the Kanawha schools before entering the service. She is enthusiastic about her work as an Air-WAC. She has 3 brothers in the air forces.

70 Pct. Of Iowa WACs From Fighting Families
A survey of approximately 70 per cent of the total Iowa WAC enlistment reveals its close integration with the war effort through service of members overseas and in this county, and through other members of their families.

From grade school principal in Kanawha, to army mathematician and statistician at the Army Air Base, Hobbs, N. Mex., was the course traveled by Pfc. E. Evelyn Waller, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne F. Waller of Garner, who enlisted last May. She is the third member of her family to enter the service, her brothers Wayne and Jackson also being in the army.
