Army Women Visit Waterloo
Lieut. Irene C. Sweeney, Omaha, Neb., (seated) and Helen Wallace, Des Moines, (Standing second from left) of the women's army auxiliary corps, were in Waterloo Friday to make advance arrangements for a recruiting effort to be made in Waterloo and Black Hawk county March 10 and 11, when a WAAC officer and auxiliary will be stationed on the Y.W.C.A. here to interview applicants, help them fill out applications and give them all tests except physical examinations. Assisting the women in making arrangements were Mrs. J.W. Jeffries (left) and Mrs. Hillery Quin (right) both members of the Waterloo Womens' club, which is co-operating in the recruiting. Mrs. Quin is in charge of a Waterloo's club WAAC recruiting station in the west library which is open each Saturday evening.
