Anita Wacker Is Training as Marine Reserve
Wilton -- Miss Anita Wacker, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Wacker, who enlisted in the Marine Corps Women's Reserves in February, left Sunday night to report for duty at New River, N.C., where she will receive her basic training. Miss Wacker is a graduate of the Wilton high school and has been employed of the White Pigeon Insurance co.

Anita Wacker, in Marine Corps Is Graduated
Wilton -- Pvt. Anita A. Wacker, U.S. Marine Corps Women's Reserve, has graduated from the motor school at Camp Lejueune, N.C., and has been transferred to the marine base at Quanitco, Va., and is now driving an International K3 truck, according to word received by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Wacker. Pvt Wacker recently spent the weekend in Washington, D.C. with her sister, Maurine C. Wacker, yeoman third class, of the Waves, who is stationed at the Ana Costa air base near that city.

Pvt. Anita Wacker and Cpl. John Wyatt Marry
Wilton -- Mr. and Mrs. Harold C. Wacker, announce the marriage of their daughter, Pvt. Anita Wacker of the U.S. Marine Corps Womens Reserves and Cpl. John D. Wyatt of the U.S. Marines, Quantico, Va., which took place Saturday, March 17th, at 5:30 p. m. in the Emanuel Lutheran church at Baltimore, Maryland.
The bride is a graduate of the Wilton high school and was employed at the White Pigeon insurance company before enlisting in the Marine Corps Women's Reserves in February, 1944. She received her training at Camp LeJeune, N.C. before going to Quantico, Va. and will be transferred back to Camp LeJuene this week.
Cpl. Wyatt is a graduate of the Ashville, N.C. high school and has been in the Marine corps five years. He was at Pearl Harbor when the Japs made their attack on December 7, 1941 and was in the battle if Midway and other engagements in the states. Cpl. Wyatt expects to go overseas soon.

Anita Alvena Wacker Wyatt was born Nov. 16, 1923 to Harold Cord and Etha Viola Doran Wacker. She died Nov. 30, 2020 and is buried in Oakdale Cemetery, Wilton, IA.
