DAVENPORT GIRLS JOIN THE WAVES - Miss Margaret Voss and Lou Phillis have joined the WAVES and have left for Hunter college, New York, for their basic training.
Miss Voss, a niece of Mr. and Mrs. Harry H. Martens, 1826 Dixwell street, attended the Davenport high school and has been employed in the office at St. Luke's hospital. She is a past president of the Florence Simms club of the local Y.M.C.A.

WAVE of the Day
Margaret Voss, H.A., first class, is on leave in Davenport, visiting her aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Martens, 1826 Dixwell street.
She entered the service Dec. 18, 1943, taking her "boot" training at Hunter college, New York City, N.Y. She is now stationed at the United States Naval hospital at Chelsea, Mass and will return there upon completion of her leave.
She attended Davenport high school and worked in the office at St. Luke's hospital, prior to entering the service.

MARGARET VOSS DISCHARGED AT GREAT LAKES
Margaret Voss, pharmacist's mate, second class, recently received her discharge at Great Lakes and is visiting her aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Martens, 1826 Dixwell street, until February when he will return to Boston to enter college.
Miss Voss, who has been stationed at the navy yard dispensary in Boston, entered the WAVES Nov. 18, 1943,and received her training at Hunter college in New York, at Chelsea Naval hospital in Boston and Newport, R.I.
