Second Lt. Mary Smiles is visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Nick Smiles, 1009 Jefferson street, after serving as an army nurse nearly two years in the Aleutian islands. Lieutenant Smiles, a graduate of Sacred Heart high school, has been in the army three years and a half. She took her training at Mercy hospital, Cedar Rapids, Ia., before leaving the United Sates.
