Joan Schlitz Has Second Lieutenancy In Army Nurse Corps
Omaha, Nebr. -- Major-General C.H. Danielson, commanding general of the Seventh Service Command, with headquarters in Omaha, today released the information that Joan Alice Schlitz of Carroll, Ia., has been appointed a second lieutenant in the army nurse corp and will report for duty at Camp Carson, Colo., on or about April 7, 1945, to begin the necessary period of army training.
Following the training period Lieutenant Schlitz will be assigned to an installation or unit now experiencing a critical shortage of nurses.
Lieutenant Schlitz's home is at 219 East Second street in Carroll, Iowa.
Lieutenant Schlitz, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E.A. Schlitz, was graduated in September, 1944 form the St. Anthony hospital School of Nursing, and has since been working in surgery at the hospital. She leaves for Camp Carson Saturday.
