Joins WAVES
Miss Madelyn Scharff has enlisted in the WAVES, and is awaiting orders to report at the U.S. naval training school at Hunter college in New York.
Miss Scharff, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H.E. Scharff of 2501 Ripley street, is a graduate of the Davenport high school, and she received her Bachelor of Music Education degree from Northwestern university last June. While at Northwestern, Miss Scharff was active in campus affairs and was affiliated with Alpha Epsilon Phi national social sorority. She is now employed at Scharff's Women's Apparel, of which her father is the head.
