Two Sarris Brothers And A Sister With The Marine Corps
Mr. and Mrs. John Sarris, 519 Jennings Street, have the distinction of having two sons and one daughter serving in the Marine Corps.
Chris Sarris, 25, enlisted in the Marines about four years ago and recently returned to this country after service at Guadalcanal and other bases in the South Pacific. He is a staff sergeant and now is stationed on the west coast.
Mary Sarris enlisted in the Marine Women’s reserve about four months ago and recently completed her training at Camp Lejeune, New River, N.C. She has not been assigned to a permanent post.
Peter Sarris enlisted in the Marine Corps Reserve October 23, 1942, and has been active duty at Purdue University for the last four months. At the completion of his college course, he will be sent to Parris Island, S.C. for recruit training and then will take officer’s training at Quantico, Va. Peter is spending a brief leave at the home of his parents.
