Men and Women in the Service of Their Country
Pvt. Roberta Jane Randolph, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clyde C. Randolph, 123 Seventeenth street NE, will leave Monday for Camp Lejeune, N.C., where she will take boot training at the marine corps base. Pvt. Randolph attended the University of Iowa and was employed in Rockford, Ill., prior to entering the marine corps women's reserve.

Roberta Jane Randolph Weds Lt. W. Sherman at Cedar Rapids
Pvt. Roberta Jane Randolph of the marine corps women's reserve, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C.C. Randolph of Cedar Rapids was married to Lt. William M. Sherman of the paratroops, son of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Sherman, at Cedar Rapids on Sunday afternoon.
The ceremony took place at St. Pauls' Methodist church at 4 o'clock with Dr. Charles J Bready officiating the at the service, which took place before an altar decorated with white tapers, Christmas greenery and poinsettias.
The bride who was given in marriage by her father, wore her marines corps uniform with a corsage of red roses.
Miss Eleanor Lockwood was vocal soloist accompanied by Mars Marsha J. Hickman at the organ.
The bride attended the University of Iowa for three years is stationed at the marine base at Quantico, Va. Lt. Sherman was graduated from the university, and for the past two and a half years, has been on active duty in the European theater. Following his leave, he will report to Hot Springs, Ark., for two weeks and then to Fort Benning, Ga. Before reporting for duty at Hot Springs, he plans to spend Christmas day in Council Bluffs.
