WAC Wins Wings
Fighter-pilot cadets aren't the only ones who "win their wings" at the AAF Training Command's Advanced Flying School at Eagle Pass Army Air Field, Texas. Here you see Pfc. Helen Porter, daughter of Mrs. Lucille Mae Porter of 2535 second Ave, Council Bluffs, Iowa, who drives an airplane tug, proudly wearing here. Admiring mechanics of a P-40 squadron presented Pfc. Porter with the pair shown in the above photo. The legend on the wings: "Presented to Pfc. Porter for successful completion of 50 hours of Tug Time."
