Mary Perkins Will Leave Tomorrow to join Ranks of WAAC
Miss Mary P. Perkins, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. H. Perkins, 52 East Fifteenth street, Davenport, will leave Sunday for Des Moines to take her final examination for entry into the WAAC.
Miss Perkins is now employed at the Rock Island arsenal but before entering the service of the of the government was employed as a nurses' aid at Mercy hospital. She was born and raised in Rock Island but has lived in Davenport for a number of years.
If successful in passing her final tests she will enter as an auxiliary.
Miss Perkins has one brother, Myron, who is a member of the army medical corps at Plattsburg Barracks, N.Y., and another brother, Kenneth, who has enlisted in the marines and is awaiting a call to duty.
