Velma Hildur Opsand Amundson was born Oct. 15, 1918 to Harold Christian and Gunille Wessleson Opsand. She died Aug. 20, 1990 and is buried in Marion Lutheran Cemetery, Gunder, IA.
Velma served in World War II with the U.S. Navy WAVES in Bronx, NY and Oakland, CA. She was married to Morris Amundson.
