Irene L. Olson was born Nov. 2, 1915, to James C. and Millie Danielson Olson. She was employed as the Deputy County Superintendent of Schools and lived in Webster City, IA at the time of her enlistment into the WAVES in June of 1943. In 1960 she married Lester Leon Billings in Los Angeles, CA. He was also a World War II veteran, serving in the U.S. Army.
Irene died Nov. 27, 2009, in Ames, IA. She is buried in Evergreen Cemetery, Jewell, IA.
