Dorothy McFadden Leaves To Serve With Army Corps
Miss Dorothy McFadden, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E.J. McFadden, of Letts, who has been a nurse at the Bellevue hospital here for sometime, left today for Fort Snelling, Minn., where she will become a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army nurses corps.

Second Lieutenant Dorothy McFadden, A.N.C., who recently returned from her first voyage to some port in Africa, is spending a short leave with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. E.J. McFadden at Letts.
Lt. McFadden has been assigned to the 1st Army hospital ship, Arcadia, transporting troops to various ports and bringing back the wounded.

Dorothy Bertille McFadden Byrne was born Feb. 1, 1917 to Edward J. and Ida Williams McFadden. She died Aug. 7, 1982 and is buried in Ardon Cemetery, Ardon, IA.
