Congratulates WAVE, Daughter
Forest I. Murphy, 1426 Thirtieth st., congratulates his daughter, Winifred Murphy (center) 25, and Marilyn Mathis, 21, 3019 John Patterson road, at their enlistment in the WAVES Wednesday night. The two women have been attending the School Days program at the WAVES recruiting information center.

Des Moines in the Services
Des Moines women have completed basic training at the naval training school for WAVES, the Bronx, New York, and have received orders to report to various naval establishments throughout the nation. They are all seaman, second class. The list includes:
Marilyn M. Mathis, 21, daughter of Mr. and Mrs Fred D. Mathis, 3109 John Patterson road, to the naval air training station, Patuxent, Md. for duty.
