Des Moines in the Service
Des Moines women have completed training at the naval training school for WAVES, the Bronx, N.Y., and have received the following assignments:
Ellen L. Larsen, hospital apprentice, second class, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G.E. Tomlinson, 3414 S.W. Ninth st, to the U.S. Naval hospital, San Diego, Cal for further instruction.
Virginian Carolyn Memler, seaman, second class, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. I.B. Memler, 1057 Fortieth st., to Washington, D.C. for duty.
Mary Louise Moore, seaman, second class, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W.H. Moore, 815 Thirty-third st, to the naval training school for yeoman, Oklahoma A and M college, Stillwater, Okla for further instruction.

Ellen L. Larsen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G.E. Tomlinson, 3414 S.W. Ninth st, has completed the WAVES hospital corps training at San Diego, Cal., and has been promoted to a hospital apprentice, first class.

Ellen Larsen To Be Bride
Announcement is made of the engagement of Miss Ellen L. Larsen, hospital apprentice, first class, of the navy preflight school at Iowa City, Ia., and Robert D. Schlatter, son of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Schlatter of Detroit, Mich.
The wedding will take place June 14 in Detroit, Mich. Miss Larsen is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G.E. Tomlinson, 1242 S.W. Waltrous ave. She took hospital training at the United States navy hospital in San Diego, Cal, and transferred in October 1944, to her present station.
