ENGAGED
Mr. and Mrs. Joseph P. Koscielak, 2794 Sixtieth st., announce the engagement of their daughter, Margaret, to Pvt. Harry J. Gilling, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Gilling of Rock Island, Ill. Miss Koscielak is employed by Northwestern Bell Telephone Co. Private Gilling is stationed at Wilmington, Del., with the air transport command. Before entering the service, he was employed by United Airlines in Des Moines.

SUNSET GIRL
WAVE Margaret M. Koscielak, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.P. Koscielak, 2794 Sixtieth st, Des Moines, Ia., has been selected by members of an anti-tank platoon, 41st American Sunset division in the South Pacific, as their Sunset Girl. Her picture appeared in the Servicemen's edition of the Des Moines Register and Tribune. She is a seaman, first class, and is on duty in Chicago, Ill.

Three Des Moines women recently were discharged from the WAVES at Great Lakes, Ill. They are Margaret M. Koscielak, yeoman,, third class, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.P, Koscielak, 2794 Sixteenth st; Barbara J. Swanson, yeoman, third class, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carl A. Swanson, 3531 Witmer parkway; Margaret L. Herbold, yeoman, third class, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Russell Herbold, 1442 Lyon st. and Beatrice Newcomb, yeoman, third class, daughter of Mrs. Isabel Newcomb, 756 Sixteenth st.
