Anna Koltvet was born Nov. 6, 1910 to Nels Bjornsen and Bertina Elizabeth Midland Koltvet. She died Dec. 23, 1998 and is buried in Holmes Lutheran Cemetery, Holmes, IA.
Anna served with the Army Nurse Corps in World War II. She served at Port Moresby, Australia as Chief Nurse at the 83 station hospitals. She also served in the Philippines.
She was awarded the American Defense Medal, American Campaign Medal, Asia/Pacific Campaign Medal with two Bronze clusters for for two major military battles, i.e. defense of Wake and the Philippine Island and the WWII Victory Medal.
