Back from Pacific
Battle Creek, la. --Special: Lt. (j.g, ) Rhea Jungferman returned from 13 months duty aboard a hospital ship in the south and central Pacific. Lt. Jungferman was in on the invasions of the Marianas islands, Palau islands, Philippine islands and Iwo Jima. The casualties were taken to Guadalcanal, Tulagi, Russell islands, New Guinea and Admiralty Island.
A total of 60,000 miles was covered and the equator crossed 20 times.
Lt. Jungferman said Americans on the fronts are receiving the best of medical care. She flew from Guam to Oakland, Cal., and is spending a 30-day leave with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Art Jungferman.
