Pvt. Gladys Ponto who recently enlisted in the air-Wac, left Tuesday noon for Des Moines. From there she will report to Fort Oglethorpe, Ga., for 5 weeks of basic training. Gladys has a brother, Harold, who is serving with the armed forces in Italy.

Charles City -- Mr. and Mrs. John H. Ponto announce the marriage of their daughter, Wac Pfc Gladys Ponto to Cpl. Donovan Howlett, Sioux Falls, S.D., which took place March 10 in the Chapel of the Sunset, Spokane, Wash. The groom is stationed there in a guard squadron.

She is the daughter of John H. Ponto, Charles City, and entered the war Dec 14, 1943. A brother, Harold is also a private first class in the army.
