Des Moines in the Services
Four Des Moines women were graduated recently form the naval training school for yeoman, at Oklahoma A & M university, Stillwater, Okla., and were given the rating of yeoman, third class. They are Edith C. Hedlund, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Hedlund, 2318 York st; Dorothy L. Larsen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L.E. Smith, 2102 E. Grand ave.; F. D. Patchin, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. V. Patchin, 1835 Mondamin ave., and Jacqueline Lee Tarlton, daughter of Mrs. J. Beck, Route 1.

Edith Hedlund to Be Bride
Mr. and Mrs. A.C. Hedlund, 2318 York st., announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Edith C. and Garth M. Lundberg, son of Mr. and Mrs. A.B. Lundberg, 3307 E. Thirteenth st.
Miss Hedlund is a graduate of East High school and Capital City Commercial college. She is a member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority. She served the WAVES 28 months and is employed in the office of Dr. Deidrich J. Haines.
Mr. Lundberg attended Fort Dodge High school. He is a veteran of 34 months' navy service and is employed by Universal Carloading and Distributing Co. Inc.
