Miss Jean Hansen Is Called for WAAC Test

Miss Jean Hansen daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H.F. Hanesn, 2005 West First street, will leave Saturday night for Des Moines to take her physical examination and other tests for entry into the WAACS.

Miss Hansen has resided in Davenport for several years and as a graduate of Marycrest. For the past year she has been employed as a laboratory technician in the office of Dr. H. F. Lamb.

She placed her application on file only last Friday at Des Moines and was told to report almost immediately. She hopes to continue her present occupation after entering the service.

Jean Helen Hansen Commissioned in WAC

Jean Helen Hansen, whose home is at 2005 West First street, Davenport, has recently been commissioned in the women's army corps at Ft. Des Moines, according to word received here.

Third Officer Hansen was selected for officers training on the basis of her record as an auxiliary in the WAC and will now take over an executive position in the organization.

Her rank is equal to that of a second lieutenant in the U.S Army.

Second Lt. Jean H. Hansen, 2005 West First street, who has bee attached to the first WAC training center, Fort Des Moines, has reported to Maxwell field, Ala. for active duty.
