Lt. Ruth Ann Griffith

ARMY NURSE -- Miss Ruth Ann Griffith, daughter of the Rev and Mrs. J.D. Griffith, 1102 Brady street, will leave Thursday for Ft. Riley, Kan., where she will be enrolled as an army nurse.

Miss Griffith was graduated from St. Luke's hospital, Davenport, in 1940, and has since been employed there as graduate staff nurse, until the past year when she assumed the duties of night supervisor. She is a graduate of St. Katherine's school, Davenport.

Miss Ruth Ann Griffith who has been night supervisor at St. Luke's hospital, Davenport, for the last 18 months, will leave Thursday morning for Fort Riley, Kan., where she will enter the army nursing corps with the rank of second lieutenant.

She was graduated from the School of Nursing at St. Luke's hospital in 1940 and is a member of the American Red Cross nursing service.

She is the daughter of the Rev. J.D. Griffith and Mrs. Griffith, 1102 Brady street, Davenport.

On Leave

Second Lieut. Ruth Ann Griffith, daughter of Rev. and Mrs. J.D. Griffith, 1102 Brady street, U.S. army nurse, is home on a one week's leave from the station hospital at Fort Riley Kan. She graduated from St. Luke's nursing school in Davenport in 1940 where she was night supervisor.

Word has been received here by the Rev. J.D. Griffith and Mrs. Griffith, 1102 Brady street, Davenport, that their daughter, Mrs. Hugh H. Holloway, who is stationed at the Billings General hospital at Ft. Benjamin Harrison, Ind., has been advanced in rank in the army nurses corps from second lieutenant to first lieutenant.

The former Ruth Ann Griffith has been in the army nursing corps for the past two years. She received her nurses training at St. Luke's hospital here.
