DRY LAND SAILOR -- Although they don't go to sea, WAVES at the U.S. Naval Training School, Hunter college, the Bronx, N.Y., learn to steer a true navy course. Shown above is Apprentice Seaman Betty Green, 1943 West Second street, Davenport, at the helm used on a destroyer or a mine-sweeper. The helm is part of the visual aids used during the WAVES indoctrination course at the "USS Hunter."
