Pvt. Mary Emma Gouger, daughter of Mrs. Margaret Lindel, 1939 Franklin ave., recently enlisted in the marine corps and soon will report for duty at Camp Lejeune, N.C.

Mary Gouger, served as a corporal in the marines auxiliary at Camp Joseph H. Pendleton, Cal. She worked in an auditor's office and decided she would like to be an accountant.
The fact that she had dropped out of North High school in her sophomore year blocked her way to college. In Des Moines Tech, she saw the opportunity to make up the credits she needs by Fall when she will enroll in Drake university.
